⚡️ My Biggest Mistake as an Entrepreneur
Jim Wall | The Adventure Chronicles
This is a story about a date that taught me one of my biggest lessons in business and in life.

Sometimes the Truth Hurts
On my first date with Michelle I shared about my life with her through stories about my:
First job at the animal hospital
Relationship with my family
Unexpectedly moving to Miami
Adventures to 45+ countries, and
More things that she probably remembers better than I do 💁🏼♂️
On the following dates, I shared with her my business and my work philosophy. I explained what it meant to be a high performer, how I conduct my sessions for clients, and how amazing our brain can be when we have the right mindset and habits.
I was so excited sharing what I know best, mindset. That is, until her strategic brain kicked my a** with a single question:
What’s your story to sell this?
Story to sell? There’s no story Michelle, this is professional.
I just shared with you what I’m offering.
She continued…
Sharing content is not enough to sell something, people need to know ‘why’ you are offering something, not just ‘what’.
Wow…this was not the most engaging version of me she was with at the park on our first date.
I thought, well of course not. This is about business, not trying to get more dates. This is different.
Employee vs Entrepreneur Mindset
I’m sure at this point you see what my mistake was as she did. I was separating my story and who I am from my business.
I came from Corporate America, there are no stories to sell there, at least not where I worked. My “professional brain” was programmed to detect-analyze-solve.
But Michelle's brain is programmed to see stories and create strategies with those stories. This was when we first got a taste of what it was like working together.
She put together the relevant parts of my story from our first date and BOOM, in 10 minutes she gave me my business life and a story to sell.
That was pretty freaking cool.
And as it turns out, I am not a high performance coach.
How to Create Your Story
I guide people with ambitious and curious minds to live their life as a great adventure, pursue their dreams, and have fun along the way too.
That story led me to reach new clients that connected with my story. Michelle has an incredible talent to bring authentic stories out of people - she doesn’t construct stories to tell she constructs stories to sell.
I only wish I had this at the very beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, this marriage of mindset and strategy was the perfect combination I needed.
When we learn something the hard way, my takeaway is always —> share it!
We don’t want you to make the same mistake I did, so we created an intensive in-person program just for you.
It’s 2 days full of breaking limited beliefs, developing your entrepreneur mindset, communication strategies, brand storytelling and more… All here in our beautiful Miami.
This intensive is completely personalized and we will be working only with you. We’re only taking on 5 people and you’re the first to know.
Grab your dates here, and see you where the winter is best, Miami ☀️
The Bottom Line
Our ideas left unexecuted move on to someone else, or worse, a regret.
Why not turn you idea into an extra stream of revenue?
If this resonates with you or someone you know, take a look and share.
"I'm running out of time or focus is the great entrepreneurial excuse for 'my actions don't match my ambitions.'"
Sales > copywriting
(Come at me ghostwriters of X)
Because the greatest moments in life are spontaneous:
- A last first date
- A victory-inspiring speech
- A life-changing elevator pitchLearn to sell ourselves, our ideas, and our cause - Become ready for any moment in life.
