⚡️ Michelle is leaving me this Christmas...

Jim Wall | The Adventure Chronicles

This story is about how to give our very best to the people we love, plus an offer from an big project I’ve been working on at the end.

It’s Been a Big Year

I’m not coming to Chicago this year for Christmas

Michelle told me that the present she’s giving herself this year was time alone to focus on herself and reflect on the coming year.

At first I thought, “What about our plans? Christmas is all about being together”.

She then reminded me of all the things that happened this year for her: our wedding, finishing her second degree, a new job, family reunions after many years, moving, and everything in between.

Wow, hearing that all in one sentence sure made it sound like a busy year.

I realized from this conversation how important it is to take care of yourself and know when you need to take a break. After all, I always tell my clients that, “you can’t pour from an empty cup”.

That’s a nice thought, but what does filling our cup actually look like?

How A Giver Avoids Burnout

For me, that has always included investing in myself: a weekend adventure somewhere, a Tony Robbins seminar, or a new history book to get lost into (ask me anything about Genghis Khan).

Those have always helped me recharge my batteries and show up my best again.

Now I really get what Michelle is going after, that’s a courageous decision.

If you’re a giver like me (and my Dad if you read that issue), you may at times lose track of filling your “cup” because you do such a great job taking care of the people around you.

How many times have we pushed beyond our limits to try to be easygoing, or just to keep the “plans”?

Or how many times have you wanted to invest in something for yourself and thought “not now” just to realize that “later” might never come?

The holidays are all about giving and celebrating. That’s why when we take full responsibility for our self care, we are able to give the best of ourselves to others.

It’s like pouring into ourselves so that we overflow onto those around us.

Doesn’t that sound so much more like a win-win?!

The Little Surprise

However you like to treat yourself, I hope you overflow onto the amazing people in your life this holiday season.

And if self care for you includes pursuing entrepreneurial goals, I have a little offer to share.

Michelle and I have quietly been working on a project together combining everything we’ve learned in the last 5 years of personal growth, branding, communications strategies, and business.

We created an intensive 2-day experience for entrepreneurs who are ready to take their business idea from Zero to One.

This is not for those who are doubtful of investing in themselves - it’s for people who want to grow a business with a clear plan and without wasting time.

We created this because we love the entrepreneurial journey, how it always requires self care, and we want to share it with others that want to make that big step.

If you’re interested in learning more, take a look at the info and bonuses HERE.

We’re only taking 5 people and, because you’re a subscriber here, you’re the first to see this offer.

The Bottom Line

Either way, I wish you an amazing holiday season overflowing with joy, fun, and a little adventure!

My challenge for you this week my friend is to give yourself one gift this month. What is your heart calling you for?

It already knows, we just need to listen.

Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what's left of you.
